Infant Massage with Jenny Simpson
Friday, March 12th 10am-10:30
The ABC's of Baby Massage

A-Attach
B- Bond
C-Comfort and calm

The practice of baby massage combines caregiving, communication and play between parent and baby.  Research supports age-old traditions that link baby massage to many of the critical elements of bonding:  eye to eye and skin to skin contact, smiling and cuddling.  Clinical studies show that the regular use of massage promotes faster weight gain, improves cardiac and respiratory output, promotes longer and deeper sleep patterns and develops immunological factors and helps relieve tension.  Most importantly, baby massage provides a language for parent/baby communication.

Jenny Simpson is an instructor certified by the International Association of Infant Massage.  She celebrates 15 years of teaching baby massage in the Richmond tri-city area this year.  Jenny founded the Vital Touch Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Parent Education Program and worked in the NICU at St. Mary's Hospital for 5 years helping parents massage and comfort their premature and medically fragile baby during hospitalization.   She is the President and owner of Birth and Baby Kneads, LLC.

No registration required for Infant Massage.
